About Peaks and Paths
Kira Browett is a Registered Clinical Counsellor, Certified Child Life Specialist, and the owner of Peaks and Paths Psychotherapy. Peaks and Paths offers mental health services for children, youth, young adults (ages 0-25), as well as parents. Kira has a Master’s level education with a background in neuroscience, pediatrics, child development, and psychosocial care. She takes a client-centred approach to services, and strives to honour each individual, their experiences, and what works for them. Peaks and Paths Psychotherapy serves the Fort St John and surrounding areas on the traditional lands of Treaty 8 and the Dane Zaa peoples.
Kira has training in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), emotion focused family therapy (EFFT), and expressive therapies, as well as specialized training in complex trauma treatment, somatics, and sexual assault intervention from the Justice Institute of BC. She currently holds two certifications – Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS). Kira proudly belongs to both the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors and the Association of Child Life Professionals.
